All the work was sold out of the yard straight to customers that came and picked it up, sometimes even straight out of the hot kiln. A favorite item was the "stamna" or traditional water-jug. It was used to store and cool water. It was made of porous earthenware clay which allowed water to "sweat" through it and when it was kept in a shady and breezy location it acted as a natural refrigerator. This item was very popular, since almost no one had refrigerators at the time.
