In 1948 Marietta's father, Nikolaos Theodorou, after having served as a Navy Engineer during WWII moved to Kordelio, a western suburb of Thessaloniki, and started building his own pottery with the help of his wife Anna. Anna's father owned a ceramic roof-tile factory in Serres, a city near Thessaloniki.
The photos below were taken before Marietta was born.
