Marietta's father used a kick-wheel until 1973.  As soon as electric wheels were available he had one made right away. By the amount of clay waiting to be thrown on his kick-wheel you can appreciate why he switched.  From then on he only used the kick-wheel for larger pieces when he needed to work slowly. In 2001 he shipped this kick-wheel to Marietta in St. Paul, MN, and she uses it for special demonstrations.
