Marietta's grandfather, Evangelos Theodorou, moved to Athens from Siphnos along with other relatives that were also potters in the early 1900's.  The neighborhood were they settled in became known as "Kaminia", meaning "Kilns", because of all the potteries that were built there.  It is still called "Kaminia" today, even though there are no kilns left in the area anymore.
